Top Nursing Staff in Milwaukee

Nominated Nurse of the Year

In celebration of National Nursing Home Week, VMP would like to honor Sherry Huber, RN Nursing Supervisor at VMP Manor Park. Sherry was recently nominated for The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s “Nurse of the Year” award by a family member. She has been part of the VMP team since December 4, 2000. We are proud to have her with us and thank her for her dedication and being an exemplary example of commitment to compassionate patient care. Here is just some of what the family had to say:

Compassionate & Caring:

“Sherry has taken the time each night to come up to the unit to check on Dad personally and help with his walking. With the compassion and care she has shown towards Dad, you would think that it was her own dad. I have not only seen this with my dad but with other patients as well.”

Dedicated to Upholding Standards of Professionalism:

“Sherry is a true professional in every sense. She takes time to follow through on the littlest thing and explain everything to you. She never rushes you through anything, which has become all too common in nursing homes. Sherry is the best of the best and second to no one in her field. If I was ever in a life or death situation, she is the one person who I would want to be taking care of me. I always tell her she should have been a doctor.”

Makes a Difference to our Family on a Personal Level:

“Our family member has been sick for 12 years, so someone from the family checks on him each and every day. With Sherry caring for him, it has given us the peace of mind knowing that she is there and he is getting the care he needs each night. We took our first vacation in almost eight years, and it was because of Sherry. We knew that she would be there caring for dad when we couldn’t be. She has made a huge difference in our family member’s life and ours as well. There is no one who deserves the ‘Nurse of the Year’ award more than VMP’s Sherry Huber. As mentioned before, she is second to no one in the nursing field and THE BEST of the best. She deserves to be Nurse of the Year. There is no nurse that is more compassionate and caring than her.”
