To kick off the event, the ‘Storm the Bastille 5K run’ will begin at 9 p.m. for over 5,000 runners and walkers. The race will go through East Town and into the Third Ward. The following night, one of the most exciting parts of the Bastille Days celebration, the Mardi Gras parade, will be going on. This year, over 250,000 visitors will get to experience live music across four stages. There will also be a decadent international marketplace where you can take home a piece of French cuisine. If you would rather leave the cooking to professionals, chef and wine demos will be going on all weekend. These chefs will be cooking up French and Cajun cuisine for you to try, and you won’t want to miss it.

Attending the Bastille Days celebration is free of charge, thanks to sponsors such as; Associated Bank, Bud Light, Madison Medical, EDI, International Autos Group, Gruber Law Offices, Saz’s, 330 Kilbourn, Pepsi, Door Peninsula Winery, the Plaza Hotel, Shorewest Realtors, and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Bastille Days is the main fundraiser for East Town Association, a nonprofit organization. It helps to promote businesses in the area of the eastern part and downtown Milwaukee.
